The Garlic California Giant, 'Allium sativum', is a hardy perennial. Each bulb contains a dozen or more cloves. The outer cloves produce the best flavor. It is used as a condiment and for flavoring gravies, tomato sauces, soups, stews, pickles, salads and breads. The Garlic plant prefers good fertilization and organic soils.
